From Houses to Homes(FHTH) was born from my personal journey through hardship and faith.
Homelessness is more than the absence of shelter—it’s about the lack of stability, connection, and well-being. At FHHB, we extend the definition to include those with a roof over their heads but who struggle to make ends meet, face mental health challenges, or feel isolated and lost.
At 30, after a painful divorce, poor decisions, and deep loneliness following my mother’s passing, I found myself uprooted, searching for purpose. I worked minimum-wage jobs, stayed in weekly hotels, and even slept on park benches in downtown Los Angeles. But through these trials, I experienced a heart transformation through the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Along the way, I met others whose lives had been redirected by faith—a runaway, a plumber—each with a story of redemption. These encounters, combined with my own experience, planted the seeds for FHHB: a mission to bring hope, stability, and a renewed sense of belonging to those in need.
